De functie

As Human Resources Manager, you are responsible for the result-areas of the HR team in the Netherlands. The results of the HR team in the Netherlands include: developing and implementing HR policies, Recruitment, Staff Development, labor conditions, health and safety issues and the personnel and salary administration. Besides this the HR manager, together with the Global HR professionals, is also responsible for shaping and implementing global HR projects and policies. The most important task for the HR manager is to further develop and strengthen the HR team, coordinate, evaluate, motivate and encourage the team in order to deliver the best possible results. The HR team consists of the HR manager, three HR Counselors, an HR officer and an HR secretary.

The HR manager reports to the Chief of Operations of the Executive Board. The HR manager provides the management team with proactive advice on all International HR topics in cooperation with the Global HR professionals. Furthermore, the HR manager facilitates management in their role of integral manager. As a sparring partner for the management team the HR manager supports them in managing all processes as well as seeking alignment with the Regional Hubs.

Het profiel

The HR manager must be able to work well within an international environment. The candidate will need to have high energy levels and be an effective communicator as the HR team is in the middle of a development process. A mixture of empathy, self-confidence and a pragmatic business focused approach to HR matters will be required. Other job requirements are:

  • A completed HR degree (HR business) and university level;
  • 10 or more years of demonstrable work experience as an HR manager within a dynamic international company, preferably within an NGO;
  • Good experience and coaching skills to further build the HR team;
  • Experience with international HR in a knowledge-intensive environment with highly skilled professionals;
  • A results-oriented, proactive, flexible, service-oriented and hands-on attitude in which overview is held and is propagated;
  • An effective approach and the ability to effortlessly switch between different tasks and responsibilities without losing sight of priorities;
  • Strong organization sensitivity and able to move in a political environment;
  • Good social, communicative and organizational skills in which a translation is made into appropriate solutions;
  • Key-words are: cooperation, persuasive power, leadership, innovative, coaching, team player, self-starter, proactive;
  • Excellent proficiency of the Dutch and English language;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Dutch Labor Legislation and MS Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

Your salary will be based on scale 12 of the salary structure which entails a minimum of € 3.636,77 and maximum of € 4.954,84 gross per month, depending on your experience and based on 36 hours per week.
