Wat ga je doen?

In this role you act as the main point of contact for the country business leader(s). The HR-manager (location Meppel) will operate as part of the local leadership team providing data driven insight, support and challenge to improve business decision-making. The HR-manager is accountable for identifying and coordinating the people plan for the country – the right people, in the right roles, with the right conditions. The role will work with global and regional HR-managers to ensure fairness and equity with the country and encourage mobility, whilst operating within the requirements of local legislation and practice.

Your main responsibilities in the role of HR-manager:

  • Design the HR-plans to deliver the applicable business strategy, within the agreed Astellas HR-strategy.
  • Create and deliver the workforce plan so that leaders can make effective business decisions.
  • Actively contribute to leadership, providing appropriate insight, support and challenge.
  • Create a positive working environment, participate in relevant projects, lead and ensure the business actively participates in activities to gather data and information.
  • Drive consistent adoption of practice to ensure fairness and equity across Astellas.
  • Provide HR-insight and analytics, actively monitor environment, legal and social regulations and emerging trends.
  • Understand and anticipate the need for change, diagnose the underlying issues and build the case for change with stakeholders.
  • Work with business leaders to identify the necessary capabilities to deliver on business plan.
  • Actively encourage employee development through the promotion of learning activities, career planning and the facilitation of moves.
  • Build and manage local HR-budget in accordance with the guidelines defined by Finance.

Location Meppel specific additions:

  • Manages department of ~5 Astellas employees and 2 temp workers.
  • Responsible for Human Resources oversight of ~330+ employees.
  • Responsible for Manufacturing Meppel personnel budgets.
  • Contributes to negotiations with Works Council and Trade Unions on organization, compensation, and benefits matters.
  • Cooperate with the Labour Relations Managers on periodically meetings with Local Works Council to discuss local developments and assists MT in compiling Requests for Advice or Approval.
  • Ensures consistent application and administration of collective employment conditions.

Over je profiel

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • 5-10 years HR-experience and proven track record acting as a people-manager and integral member of a business.
  • (Pharmaceutical or Life Science) industry experience.
  • Experience with work council and trade unions.
  • Intellectual capacity to understand industrial pharmaceutical manufacturing and business environment and dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging multi-national environment.
  • Ability to successfully drive change, organisational development, restructuring projects and implement new business processes.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable employment laws and, labor regulations.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch (both written and spoken).
